8 months after the release of Second Nature, Tigersushi presents a rich and diverse collection of remixes from the acclaimed album that proposed to redefine our relationship to Nature.
This is an occasion for Joakim, who hand-picked all the remixers here, to bridge the gap between generations, genres and eras as he always likes to do. You’ll find a wide spectrum of artists on the leftfield and avant-garde side of electronic music, from all around the world : some pioneers and legends, some young upcoming talents and some unsung heroes of the underground.
The goal was also to create a remix album that is not just a collection of club bangers but rather a consistent record that you can listen to from start to finish.

London-born, Chinese-Malaysian multidisciplinary producer and DJ, Flora Yin-Wong remixed 2 tracks into one, stretching out the noisy tones of Leviathan Chant and layering them with bits of piano from Sferic & Whistlers which took a new somber color.

Canadian Phoebé Guillemot aka Ramzi reinvents the utopian vibes of early electronica (Clear Records, B12...) in a pastoral version of Formosan Rock.

808 State surprised us with an amazing free-form electronic Jazz version of Kepler-39 proving that you can still re-invent yourself after more than 30 years of outstanding releases.

Hong Kong producer Scott Young (Discos Capablancas, OHH Sounds) turned Owling Gorilla into an industrial haunted lullaby that sounds like it was recorded in a dark and wet tunnel, far away from its original jungle sounds.

Australian wonder-kid and founder of Super Utu, River Yarra (Antinote) applied his signature percussive, hypnotic proto-goa style to Formosan Rock.

The legendary Mad Professor dubbed out Make It Slow just like he did with Massive Attack back in the days, creating a perfect bass heavy bucolic stroll.

French musician and producer Pierre Rousseau extended and completely re-arranged Indri Eyes in an epic way that sounds like an encounter between Kraftwerk, Plaid and Air.

Chilean born and Italy based Paula Tape heads straight to the dancefloor with another re-interpretation of Formosan Rock that made us think of Larry Levan’s classic remix of Nami Shimada.

New York based producer, engineer, DJ, activist, sound archivist (they recently worked on the digitizing of Frankie Knuckles’ record collection presented at Gagosian art gallery in New York), Russel E.L. Butler created a hypnotic off beat dance version of Blood Garden that holds its mystery listen after listen.

Lastly, Russian-born, activist and dissident artist Pavel Milyakov aka Buttechno ends the record hands in the air with a pumping stripped down rendition of Formosan Rock.
